September 2018 Year 7 Admissions Arrangements

Tameside residents should complete an online application which can be found on the schools admissions page of the council website;
A video is also available to assist you - the video link can be found on the council website

Important Dates:

1st September 2017 – the online application system opens for Year 7 applications

30th October 2017 – closing date for Year 7 applications

17th November 2017 – final date by which changes to applications (due to exceptional circumstances) can be accepted by Tameside

1st March 2018 – National Offer Day - on this date, all offer letters will be posted to parents

30th March 2018 - closing date for returning appeal forms.

If you would like assistance with your online application form or do not have access to the internet, please contact Mr Wakefield (Student Services Manager) at Droylsden Academy who will be happy to help you.

Tameside operates a co-ordinated admissions scheme. This means parents only have to complete one application, and the schools can be inside or outside the borough. There is coordination between the council and other admissions authorities, and every parent who lives in Tameside receives one offer of a school place.

Parents can express a preference for up to six schools. These schools can be in or out of Tameside. If you live outside Tameside you should complete the form from your local authority, even if you wish to apply for a Tameside School.

How do we compare?

The tables on the ‘Compare Schools’ site give information on the achievements and progress of pupils in local secondary schools, and how the schools compare with other schools in the Local Authority (LA) area, and in England as a whole.

The information the tables show for each school cover:

  • Attainment and progress
  • Absence
  • Spend per Pupil
  • Workforce
  • Ofsted
