The Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy qualifications are sometimes referred to as Adult Basic Skills, but can be taken by learners of any age. They are available at:
- Entry Levels 1-3
- Levels 1-2
At Levels 1 and 2, the National Tests in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy are at the same level as a GCSE.
ALAN qualifications are nationally recognised, stand alone qualifications that enable learners to gain the basic key skills they require in English and mathematics. Over 450,000 learners sat an ALAN test last year, if you want to be one of them the Academy is here to support you.
Droylsden Academy is offering ALAN tests (Adult Literacy and Numeracy) to interested parents of year 9, 10 and 11 students on a Thursday evening at the Cryer Street site. If you are interested, please contact Patricia Dawson or Anne Morgan at Cryer Street.
