Droylsden Academy provides a comprehensive careers and further education support package to help students make the right decisions about life after school. Our libraries house a vast amount of information on future careers and courses and this is available to all students, with many taking time during lunch to read about and explore their potential futures. Our tutorial time programme delivered during form time also covers topics such as career information, financial awareness, life skills and healthy living.
Positive Steps is a local advice service which the Academy works closely with. They regularly visit the school to provide advice to our students, in order to understand the options available to them and how to overcome barriers they may encounter in reaching their goals.
The Academy hosts its very own annual Futures Evening” aimed at year 9, 10 and 11 students. Students and parents/carers attend this event each year to interact with representatives from a large number of local and national colleges, universities, employers and training providers to find out more about what they can offer.
