Droylsden Academy Chess Club member, Jack Latham Year 8, has managed to qualify for a place in the British Land Megafinal 2010 which will take place this Saturday 1^st May at North Chadderton High School in Oldham. He has been entered for the under-13's section and will play a total of 6 rounds which will culminate in an awards ceremony. Everyone at Droylsden Academy wishs Jack the best of luck as he is an incredible player who has a real aptitude for the game! Librarians and Chess Club organisers Mrs Thompson and Miss Tennent are extremely proud of his achievements.

Jack recently won the Academy Chess Club Competition that was held at Chess Club on Friday’s in Cryer Street LRC. He will be presented with a shield at his house meeting next week.
