On Thursday 7^th April 2011 the City Manchester Stadium was host to Droylsden Academy’s Year 5 Enterprise Day. Fifty primary school students from Manchester Road, Fairfield Road, St Mary’s Church of England and Greenside got together to practice their teamwork and presenting skills to compete to be Droylsden Academy enterprise champions.

The mission for the teams of 6 was to produce a leaflet to give the community a flavour of the types of activities and services that will be on offer when the new Academy building opens in January 2012. Year 10 students from the Academy were on hand to make sure students combined their individual skills as a team to create images and text to advertise the fantastic facilities that will be available.

The students were inspired when they were given a briefing, shown an animated fly-through of the Academy building and then asked to work independently to design and make the community leaflet. Winners on the day were a team from Greenside Primary School who used the Academy Inspiring Minds theme to great effect to show off the facilities and services.

Everyone who attended had great fun and the teachers and students from the junior schools said they were looking forward to the next event.
