On Monday 16th December 2013, we hosted Droylsden Academy’s first OAP Dinner lead by Ms Williams. 28 residents joined us from Fairfield House and Chesworth House. The night consisted of performances from the students, a three course meal and a fun game of bingo.
The night started around 4.30pm, as the guests started arriving, they were greeted by myself and a few other prefects. They were welcomed into the Academy with a glass of wine and live entertainment from the students. As they took their seats and enjoyed the spectacular performances; the rest of the team were preparing to get the meals out on time. The three course meal included a starter of leek and potato soup, the main was a traditional Christmas dinner and to conclude the meal, a dessert of a chocolate log and Christmas cake served with cream or custard.
The meals were served by our team of prefects, who I must say did a brilliant job. To finish off the night, what OAP dinner would be complete without a game of bingo? There were four prizes to be won which meant four fun rounds. The whole evening was a success! There were smiles all round, and positive feedback from the residents and staff. I’d like to thank all the residents who came along and hope they enjoyed their evening at Droylsden Academy but also to the staff, prefects for making the night a complete triumph. However none of this would have been possible without the help of Ms Williams who lead the event, making it a great success!
