Droylsden Academy is delighted to announce the recent launch of the Droyslden Schools’ Partnership (DSP), where Fairfield Road Primary School, Greenside Primary School, Manchester Road Primary Academy and St Mary’s Church of England Primary School work together on four key priorities for the town. The ambition of the partnership is to put Education and Learning at the centre of all that is best in our town. For too long, the schools have worked in isolation and for too long the priority in Droylsden has not been the joint development and support of polite, hardworking and honest young people who achieve well at school and in life.
Recent collaboration has been on the fundamental cornerstones of a child, a school and, indeed, a town’s development:
Already, in these early days, the schools have worked together on the quality of teaching, a joint approach to mathematics and science, and engagement in Chess, Mathematics Battles for Students, General Knowledge Quizzes (where schools, children and teachers across the partnership are pitched against each other), a Droylsden Primary School Sporting Olympics and Cookery. The next academic year sees the continuation of this excellent joint work and the extension of it to include: literacy; book clubs; a primary-secondary debating society; drama, dance and music collaboration; as well as further sporting integration.
The future for the town is looking brighter as a result. So much so that the partnership has been approached by 3 primary schools in Audenshaw wishing to join us in our joint improvement work.
