In August 2010 the Academy was awarded the Foundation level for introducing internationalism to students and staff.

The Academy has demonstrated an excellent start in promoting the international dimension across the school and highlighted benefits of learning in a global context. The commitment to extending and embedding internationalism in the curriculum is a valuable aspect of the Academy ethos.
Next Steps:
The Academy will work towards gaining the next level which is the Intermediate level and will involve:
• Finding partnership schools in other countries
• Forming links with the partnership schools
• Students taking part in a minimum of three international curriculum based activities

A copy of the certificate awarded is displayed on both Academy sites. Details of activities and progress towards the Intermediate level will be available in the new school year 2010/11.
