Last day of normal school for Year 11 students

Last day of normal school for Year 11 students

Today, Friday 23rd May 2014, marked the last day of normal school for this year's Year 11 students. After the half term break they will only be required to come in for either revision sessions or the main examinations. On these occasions students will be required to be in full Academy uniform. If these simple rules are not adhered to, it may prevent students fro, taking part in the revision sessions or change where and when they take their examination. Any student who arrives at the Academy out of uniform will be sent home to change.

Once students have completed their revision session and/or examination, they must leave the Academy immediately as not to affect the 750+ other students being taught in the Academy in their normal lessons. A copy of the revision sessions available to Year 11 students has been sent home today, and a copy is available here. If there are any queries about these sessions, please contact Mrs Smith or Mrs Heys at the Academy.

Over half term, there will be several opportunities for students to attend revision sessions and tutors will have informed students of these times,. Students will not be required to wear uniform if they come to one of these half term sessions.

Once the Year 11 examination period is over, we will be holding a special leavers assembly on Tuesday 1st July at 11:00am. The assembly will be held at the Academy and all Year 11 students will be invited. During this time Form Tutors will do a short review of the year and photographs from Year 7-11 maybe displayed on the big screen! Students must attend the final assembly in full Academy uniform and their will be time to sign shirts and leaving books before leaving. Students may wear their uniform plus their Year 11 Leavers hoodies if they wish. After the assembly students will join Academy staff for a buffet lunch before leaving the Academy at 12:45pm.

The Year 11 Prom will take place on the evening of Thursday 3rd July at the Marriott Worsley Hotel. Over half term students will receive a letter with information about invitations. If a student is invited to the Prom, they may pick up their formal invite from Student Services when they pay for their £30 ticket during the week of 9th - 13th June 2014.

Finally, this is a vital time for Year 11 students and time spent well over the half term will pay off during the examinations.
