Eight students from Droylsden Academy completed an accredited AQA award during “Quest Seekers” the 2009 Summer reading challenge co-ordinated by Tameside Young People’s Service with whom they work closely. The volunteers helped public library staff to run the “Epic Adventures” activities for children during the summer holidays which meant giving up their own free time. A record number of young people took part and everyone involved had a great time!

The 2010 Summer Reading challenge is titled “Space Hop” and hopefully we can trust Droylsden Academy students to rise to the challenge once again. So if you wish to get involved this summer and earn a coveted award in the process then look out for the posters advertising the event either in your local library or in the Academy LRC or on the website.

All involved were excellent ambassadors for the Academy. Well done!
