The Academy have today received fantastic news that Chris Astle and Jack Clare, Year 8, Student Librarians Cryer Street, have been short listed for the Young Crime Writer’s Competition 2010 in the area of Manchester and Tameside!
They have been invited to an Area Award Ceremony tonight at Stalybridge Library. At the event all short-listed entrants will receive a certificate and the area winner will be announced. The area winner will also receive a £10.00 book token.
The area winner will then go forward to the national stage of the competition and the national winner will be announced in "Crime Fiction Week", 14th - 20th June 2010 and will win fabulous prizes including an engraved pen, signed books and a pass for themselves and an adult to "Crime Fest 2011!"
The Academy staff and students would like to wish Chris and Jack the best of luck for tonight!
