Macmillan Fundraising Week
On the 26th of September the year 11 prefects begin a series of fundraising events to raise money for Macmillan. The event organised by myself Ashleigh Allcroft, Mrs Fish and Miss Williams was ran at break and dinner time. The prefects sold a range of cakes to everybody in the school.
The following week year 7, 8, 9 and 10 all got the opportunity to organise their own charity fundraiser for Macmillan. Due to the massive success of the first cake sale, all of the other years decided to do the same and put a new range of cakes on offer.
I decided I wanted to raise money for Macmillan because of how much cancer affects a lot of people. After losing various family members and close friends, I knew that now would be a perfect opportunity to begin some fundraising events to help with various cancer charities, like Macmillan.
With the help of Mrs Fish and Miss Williams, I believe that a substantial amount of money can be raised over the next year for Macmillan.
We chose Macmillan because of how much they help sufferers of the disease as well as the families.
From this experience I learnt that with the help of others, everybody can pull together and do something for a good cause.
Overall we raised £356.64 which is amazing!
Thank you to everybody who got involved.
