Mathletics

The summer of 2010 saw Droylsden Academy purchas every student a license for the online Mathematics tutoring and game package, Mathletics. Mathletics is a web-based learning program which integrates home and school learning via the internet. Mathletics isn't just a game it can also tutor against the curriculum syllabus bringing fun to learning whatever your age.

Mathletics is available 24-hours a day, 365-days a year from any computer with internet access. Logging in to your account is easy and can be done through the Mathletics website or alternatively through the quicklink on the Academy home page. Mathletics helps to build confidence in maths, allowing competitions in game situations against friends in the Academy or other students from around the world. Even if you just want to practice mental arithmetic or are struggling to grasp a particular topic you are currently studying, you can practice any time, any where.

Mathletics isn't just a digital maths textbook, it is a tutor, with its step by step help section which guides students through the appropriate method to solve a question they maybe stuck upon. If a student begins to get questions wrong, the software detects this and presents easier questions until these are mastered. In essence the package is like a 24 hour Maths tutor.

Mathletics logs student activity on the software, enabling teachers to monitor student progress in addition to feeding back results which may highlight areas where extra help maybe required. Mathletics will accompany the current maths tuition that students currently receive at the Academy, with a view to also enriching and motivating students, allowing them to work through the curriculum at their own pace.

Each student has their own unique username and password to use on the system, if you have lost your credentials or just forgotten them, please speak to your Maths tutuor.
