Today ten year nine gifted and talented mathematicians from the Academy visited the University of Manchester to participate in a "Maths is Fun" session.
Students accompanied by Academy Mathematics teacher Miss Whitehill got stuck into a morning of complex problem solving activities, group work and analytical skills.
Students later watched a presentation on prospective careers involving mathematics, science and engineering and the jobs involved with these degree courses.
