On Monday 26th September 2010, Droylsden Academy will go continental and celebrate European languages in their diversity. Students and staff across the Academy will be encouraged to speak in another language. Worldwide flags and their equivalent greeting vocabulary cards will be displayed around the Academy to promote cultural diversity.
This is the programme so far:
- Special menus a la carte at the canteen on both sites
- French and Spanish cafes run on both sites at break time, Manor Road LRC and in the Cryer Street dining hall
- Projection of the movie 'Au revoir les enfants' on Thursday the same week
- Special workshops for year 10 Ebacc students period 2 (Japanese, French delicacies, Spanish delicacies, focus on Paris/ Barcelona)
- A trip to Paris during February 2012 half term will be advertised on the 26th September - 25 places for Year 7-10 students. Letters will be handed out to you on the Friday 23rd September.
There will be rewards for students whom have contributed the most during the day.
