On the 19th May 2011, the Bishop of Middleton and the people below had a guide tour around the Academy new build site accompanied by Stuart McFarlane (Project Director of Carillion Building) and Beverley Fish (Community Manager Droylsden Academy):
- Reverend Joanna Farnworth – Licensed as Priest in charge at St Martins Church Droylsden and Young Adults Missioner for the Archdeaconry of Rochdale.
- Reverend Roger Farnworth – Team Rector (The Parish of the Good Shepherd – Ashton)
- Reverend Jack Hemsworth - Vicar at St Andrew’s Parish Church Droylsden
- The Right Reverend Mark Davies – Bishop of Middleton
The Bishop of Middleton visited the site during his visit to the Tameside Area; he is particularly interested in Education and chairs the Board of Education for Manchester.
