Picking up GCSE results was the order of the day as Year 11 pupils returned to the Academy for the final time to find out their GCSE examination grades. Overall achievement was high with 80% of students getting five A* - C’s in any subject, this being above the national average of 69%, with 46% of students achieving five A* – C’s including English and Mathematics.

This month, August 2010 the Academy has been awarded the Foundation level for introducing internationalism to students and staff. The Academy has demonstrated an excellent start in promoting the international dimension across the school and highlighted benefits of learning in a global context.

Droylsden Academy - Class of 2010 Leaver's Prom was held at the Shrigley Hall Hotel, Macclesfield, Cheshire on Thursday 24th June 2010 where the students sat down to a 3-course meal, before partying the night away on the dance floor.

Year 7 and 8 students from the Academy experienced a day of Pop-Lacrosse coaching at the Armitage Centre in south Manchester to celebrate the start of the 2010 FIL World Lacrosse Championships which will be held at the Manchester University Sports grounds, The Firs.

The Year 8 Transition was a great success which was enjoyed by students and staff alike! Students were involved in a wide range of activities across the 2 days at the Manor Road site.
