Readathon is a charity that runs the UK's biggest sponsored reading campaign and we at Droylsden Academy are taking part! Readathon provides a stimulating focus for recreational reading and raises money for seriously ill children.
Readathon boosts literacy skills by giving all students – boys as well as girls – a powerful incentive to read recreationally.
Readathon is not just about what you read. It’s about how you read...
...it’s about reading with passion, commitment, purpose and pleasure.

Read to boost your brain.
Read together.
Read to help support children with serious illnesses.
Read to change a life.
Read forever!
Students can collect a sponsor form from Miss Tennent at Cryer Street or Miss Thompson at Manor Road. We aim to promote three Readathon's a year one in autumn, one in spring and one in the summer terms. All sponsor forms and money needs to be collected for the Spring Readathon by Monday 1st March 2010. Every penny helps!
Money raised so far for Readathon:
Autumn 2009 - £306
Spring 2010 - £94
