Sixth Form Provision at the Academy

Sixth Form Provision at the Academy

The choices made by young people at the age of 16 are amongst the most important they will ever make.  We believe that every student deserves an opportunity to reach his or her full potential, be successful and gain the qualifications and experiences to become confident, happy young adults fully prepared for further training, higher education and the world of work.

There is a wide range of opportunities at 16: different types of training providers, different ways to study, part-time or full-time, vocational and academic courses and apprenticeships.

The highly successful partnership between the Academy and the Sponsor, Tameside College, gives the students the opportunity to consider each of these options.  By working closely together we are able to provide a flexible choice of high quality learning opportunities to suit individual needs.  This may be through A level subjects delivered at the Hyde Clarendon site of the College through to vocational options such as Engineering and Catering in which the College has a long tradition of excellence, delivered at the Ashton site of the College.

From September 2015 the Academy and College will deliver a combined offer of post 16 programmes based at both the Academy and the College sites.  Full details will be available later this year.
