'Student Librarians' work with the two Academy Librarians Miss Thompson (Manor Road) and Mrs Tennent (Cryer Street) and assist them in the Learning Resource Centre at the respective sites during lunchtimes and breaktimes and possibly at the end of the Academy Day.

They engage in a variety of library related tasks and have been given a certain amount of responsibility to help in the smooth running of the LRC. The current volunteers are well behaved and reliable and commitmented to the role.
