Ben Lomas, Jack Clare, Luke Gallagher and Cameron Hall, 4 talented students from Droylsden Academy who go by the name 'Long Vue', recently entered a competition to write, record and perform a song inspired by the Olympics. They won and on Wednesday 6th July 2011 they played at the opening ceremony of the Greater Manchester School Games at the regional Athletics Centre at Eastlands, Manchester.
They performed their song "The Creed" brilliantly in front of 1,500 competitors from 200 primary, secondary and special schools. Guests included Manchester’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Harry Lyons, elite athlete Jason Gardener MBE and Tim Loughton MP. It’s great achievement and was a fantastic experience for the lads to play a prestigious event like this in such a big venue.
