On Friday 19th February 2011 at midnight, 4 staff and 29 students from Droylsden Academy travelled to Normandy. Normandy is located in the North West of France. On the Saturday afternoon, when we arrived at the beautiful hotel, we were unpacking and getting settled after going to the beach. The beach was right next to our hotel which was called Maison Familiale Bon Sejour.

On the Sunday, we all went visiting the Mont St Michel, which was a genre of monastery built on a hill out in the sea. We then went to a big Aquarium in St Malo. It was amazing and fun!

On the Monday, we went making bread in a boulangerie. This was messy but very thrilling, we even ended up tasting our own bread, which was delicious. Also on that day, we went to a cider factory where they make fresh cider from their own apples. In the evening, we went bowling. It was very funny and nice to spend some time with my friends outside the hotel. |
On the Tuesday we all went to a Mohair Goat Farm and a lady showed us how to cut the goats nails. She also showed us how she makes wool and how long it takes. Then, we all went shopping. Everyone did there own thing in groups of four. In the afternoon we visited the Bayeux Tapestry museum and afterwards, we drove to the Bayeux Cemetery which has thousands of graves of those who had lost their lives in World War II.
We stayed in Normandy for 5 days altogether and I have to say that it was a fantastic trip and I enjoyed discovering a lovely part of France.
Finally, we left our hotel on the Wednesday morning after breakfast. The journey back home was quite long and all I could do was reminisce the great times I had in Normandy.
