From the 26th - 30th April 2011, a residential trip to Madrid was organised by Mr Ribot, Curriculum Leader of Modern Foreign Languages. Twenty-nine students joined Miss Sanderson, Miss Hutchinson and Mr Ribot for a fantastic fun 5 days in Madrid the capital of Spain. The group went visiting thrilling museums, an exciting bull ring, the Bernabéu Stadium, the Royal Palace and Warner Bros theme park. Three students wrote about one day of their choice.

On Wednesday 27th April we went to a museum and art gallery called Mueso del Prado. We looked at artwork that was thousands of years old; you could tell the artwork must have taken years to complete by the amount of detail that had gone into them. Later on, we went to the second most famous bull ring in the world, plaza de toros, las ventas. We passed around the famous red cape and we learnt lots of interesting information about the history of bull fighting. I had a great time in Madrid, and I would definitely go again!

On Thursday 28th April we went to the Royal Palace and the Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid’s stadium. It was very interesting taking a tour around the palace and learning about Spain’s King and Queen and the monarchy. I enjoyed going to the stadium where we saw many trophies that Real Madrid have won during their history. I had a lot of fun on the trip and I would love to go to Madrid again!

On the third day we went to the Warner brother’s theme park. It was great there were loads of great rides. Talisha, April and myself went on this big rollercoaster called Superman. It was so scary I was screaming all the way because we went upside down and there were really sharp corners. We also went on this log flume it was really good because it went really fast backwards down this hill and you got really wet. Overall the day was great I went home soaking wet but was very happy sadly, as that was to be my last day in Madrid on the trip. I wish I could go back again it was awesome and I would definitely recommend it to others!
