Students receive cooking master class off La Tasca chef

On Thursday 25th November 2010 the Head Chef and Manager from La Tasca, Didsbury came into the Academy to demonstrate an example of International Cuisine to Miss Spacey’s Year 11 Catering class.

Mr Anthony Vale arrived with the largest 'frying pan' the students had ever seen, which in fact turned out to be an authentic Paella pan. He continued to demonstrate a vegetarian paella to the students which they could then taste.

The class enjoyed seeing how traditional dishes are made and asked questions to help with their coursework project on International Cuisine. Some of the information Mr Vale shared with the class was the type of ingredients traditionally used in Spain, rabbit received the most interest and students did ask if it was something you could buy in this country.

Miss Spacey and the catering class would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Vale for giving up his time to come in and show us some authentic Spanish Cuisine.
