'Twenty Twenty' appear at the Academy

On Tuesday 29th March 2011, pop/rock band 'Twenty Twenty' kindly offered some of their time to come and play in front of the Year 7 students at the Academy. Mrs Platt, Head of Expressive Arts at the Academy organised the whole event, so on behalf of all students I would like to thank her.

Twenty Twenty started their careers in 2008, and the members include Sam Halliday, Jack Halliday and Sonny Watson-Lang. The songs they sung were 'Small Talk', 'Love to life' and 'Burning up'. They were also very kind enough to give away free pens, t-shirts, leaflets and sign autographs for students that wanted them. This spread amazement around the Academy, but did not affect student's learning and discipline.

Students are now back in there usual routine and the show was carefully picked to be last period of the day to stop any learning disruptions. Furthermore 'Twenty Twenty' are a very good band, some of the remarks from students were, "Twenty Twenty are an amazing band!", and "Wow! Can we hear them again?" The feeling amongst students is that we would definitely like to do something like this again!
