A group of our Year 7 students have won through to the semi finals of a competition aimed at designing a publicity campaign to encourage responsible behaviour on Metrolink trams. The competition, sponsoredby TfGM (Travel for Greater Manchester) and UTV Media has been run at schools across Greater Manchester with four teams from Droylsden taking part. Well done to Taliya Nash, Sanna Hamdan, Keira Hill and Niamh Horan who will represent the Academy in the next round!
The UTV Media representative who came into the Academyto run the competitionwas really impressed with all the students he worked with and made the following comments in his feedback:
The students were extremely engagedandhad well informed opinions on the issues of fare evasion and anti-social behaviour which Metrolink were keen to promote. They also demonstrated a very good understanding of the world of advertising and how it is used to influence opinion.I’d also like to add that the studentswere a delight to work with; they were polite, completelyengaged and created some fabulous work, acredit to the school.
To progress in the competition we need to secure Youtube views and likes of the advert that our winninggroup produced. The linkfor the advert is https://youtu.be/zXQrrMIwXzU which can be accessed on your own PC, phone or tablet or through the Academy website.
