ONLINE SAFETY

Helping our students stay safe online

Technology is an important part of education and young people’s lives, but we recognise that the online world can also expose children to harm.

Through education, pastoral support and our safeguarding arrangements, we help students understand how to recognise and manage online risks.

These may include:

  • cyberbullying;
  • inappropriate or harmful content;
  • grooming and exploitation;
  • inappropriate contact from adults or other young people;
  • sharing or requesting sexual images;
  • scams and fraud;
  • misinformation;
  • harmful online challenges;
  • coercion or threats; and
  • content promoting self-harm, violence or extremist views.

Has something happened online?

If something you have seen, received or experienced online has made you feel worried, frightened, uncomfortable or embarrassed, please tell somebody.

You will not be in trouble for asking for help.
