Safeguarding

Keeping our students safe, supported and able to thrive

At Droylsden Academy, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.

We want every student to feel safe, listened to and supported, both in school and beyond the Academy gates. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and all members of our Academy community have a role to play in helping to keep children safe.

We recognise that sometimes children, young people and their families need additional help. Our role is not simply to identify concerns, but to listen, understand what may be happening and ensure that students and families receive the right help at the right time.

If you are worried about a student, please tell us. You do not need to be certain that something is wrong before sharing a concern.

OUR SAFEGUARDING COMMITMENT

At Droylsden Academy, we want our students to know that:

You have the right to feel safe.

You have the right to be listened to.

There is always somebody you can talk to.

Asking for help is a strength.

And if something is worrying you:

Tell us. We will listen.
