Droylsden Schools’ Partnership

The Academy is delighted to be a key educational partner in the Droylsden Schools’ Partnership (DSP), where Fairfield Road Primary School, Greenside Primary Academy, Manchester Road Primary Academy. Moorside Primary Academy and St Mary’s Church of England Primary School work together on three key priorities for the town. The ambition of the partnership is to put Education and Learning at the centre of all that is best in our town.

Recent collaboration has been on the fundamental cornerstones of a child, a school and, indeed, a town’s development:

  • The progress students make in school (especially in English, Mathematics and Science);
  • The quality of teaching and the quality of learning and student engagement in learning;
  • The attendance, behaviour, self-discipline and welfare of our young people aged 3-16;
  • The development of them as fine young citizens with strengths in the performing arts, sport and other pursuits. We wish our students at all ages to show their character strengths in: Learning; Leadership; Service; and, Participation.

In our Partnership Improvement Plan for 2024 to 2026 the partner schools are working jointly to further improve their:

  • How best the DSP can support students in their educational recovery after two periods of lockdown
  • The implementation of that Curriculum through high quality teaching and learning;
  • Personal development and character as citizens of our town through their contribution to the extended curriculum and our community.

The schools have worked together on the quality of teaching, a joint approach to Mathematics, English and Science, and engagement in a range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities including: Mathematics Battles; High Order Thinking Mathematics; the DSP Sporting Olympics; Food and Nutrition; DSP Choir Competition General and Specialist Knowledge Quizes; Performing Arts and Biology lessons on the secondary partner site.

Staff across the partner schools contribute to teaching and curriculum development (and continuity of learning between primary and secondary) work jointly in HUBS in Mathematics, Science and Performing Arts.

In the coming years there will be more on offer. The future of education is looking bright for Droylsden.
