FRIDAY PRIDE DAY!!

October 23rd 2026

Both staff and students enjoyed another successful Friday Pride Day event on Friday 23rd October. Over 70 students were invited to attend by staff presenting golden and diamond tickets for their outstanding work and collecting a fantastic prize.

Students love Friday Pride Day and we love celebrating with our students.

“I was awarded three golden tickets – I couldn’t believe it! I was awarded the tickets for excellent effort in Science lessons. Making full calculations. Excellent contribution in lessons to complete work to a high standard. Excellent extended writing in Geography and RS. I was surprised, very happy and proud of myself. There is a good variety of prizes to pick some but would love it if there are more chocolates! Friday Pride Day is such a good event. It’s really nice to have music at lunch time for a feel good event and it is enjoyable time with friends. It’s great to also support how well your friends have done as well as yourself.”

Annie A (Y7)

“I was awarded a golden ticket in English for my hard work. I was very proud of myself. I was a bit nervous about it, but found it to be a joyful event. There are so many good prizes on offer, I love stickers – please can we have some more next time. It is such a nice event because it has nice music and it’s joyful.”

“I was awarded a golden ticket in Spanish for my excellent writing. I couldn’t believe it was me! I was really happy and proud of myself. I felt confused – why me? But it was amazing. Friday Pride Day is so good because every student wants to get a ticket – it helps to bring out the best in us. There are so many good prizes on offer too”

“I was awarded a golden ticket for my independent work in Maths and excellent effort in Maths. I was really proud of myself and felt seen by a teacher and felt a lot of pride in myself that I was chosen out of everyone. The prizes are inclusive, there are lots of different choices and well rounded options. I really like Friday Pride Day, it’s not just the school that counts down, students do it too, there is an eagerness from everyone to get a ticket. The music at lunch time creates a happy vibe, it is a celebration of the whole month which encourages you for the next month. I think that Friday Pride Day validates all students feelings, it is spread out across the school which I really like, it’s for everyone”

Lois S (Y11)

“I received a golden ticket because my Photography teacher recognised that I had been doing a lot of my own photoshoots and other extra work outside of school. I was quite proud of myself, happy with what I had done and accomplished. I love the prizes, I managed to get a cute little pen with a character. There is so much to suit everyone. Friday Pride Day is really good, I thought it would be annoying at first when it was launched with the music at lunch time, but I actually do enjoy having the music on whilst I am eating my lunch with my friends and it is nice to win something and to celebrate with others. ”
