Outstanding GCSE Results for Droylsden Academy – The Class of 2025 Exceed Expectations

Students and staff at Droylsden Academy are today celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results, with the Class of 2025 exceeding expectations and achieving even better than expected.

This year’s results have not only surpassed those of the previous Year 11 cohort, but have also significantly exceeded teacher predictions, reflecting the hard work, determination, and resilience shown by students throughout their studies.

Particular highlights include outstanding performances in English, Science, and Maths, where results were especially strong. These core subjects continue to thrive at Droylsden Academy, with a large number of students achieving top grades.

Headteacher Mr Mayell praised both students and staff for their dedication and ambition:

“We are incredibly proud of all our students – this is a truly fantastic year for Droylsden Academy. The Class of 2025 have worked exceptionally hard and have shown real character and commitment throughout their time with us. Their results are a testament to that. I’m hugely excited to see where their next steps in education take them, and we will miss them a great deal.”

The school would also like to thank the parents, carers, and wider school community for their continued support in helping students achieve their full potential.

As students prepare to begin college courses, sixth form studies, apprenticeships, and other further education opportunities, the staff at Droylsden Academy send their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the future.

Mr Mayell expressed his gratitude to the parents and carers for their support, and he extended his congratulations to the students for their exceptional achievements.

Phil Wilson, Chief Executive of the Tame River Educational Trust, has praised students across the Trust for their outstanding achievements in this year’s GCSE examinations.

“On behalf of the Trust, I extend my warmest congratulations to all our students. Their results are a testament to years of dedication, resilience, and hard work. We are immensely proud of what they have accomplished.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our staff and governors, whose unwavering commitment and support have been instrumental in guiding our students to success.”

Once again, Droylsden Academy has seen a significant increase in the number of applications for places in September and, for the ninth year running, the school is heavily oversubscribed with an extensive waiting list.
