Both staff and students enjoyed another successful Friday Pride Day event on Friday 12th December. We celebrated with 92 students for their hard work and effort. Students presented their golden and diamond tickets that were awarded to them by staff for outstanding work.
Staff enjoyed it just as much as the students:
“Fantastic celebration of students’ work – students enjoy being recognised and the prizes are great!” Mr Mayell
“Great celebration and atmosphere for high performing students” Mr Ahmad
“It was a great atmosphere and nice seeing the students excited and happy. Lots of students applauded their peers as they received their prizes.” Ms Cairns
“There was such as wonderful response from staff and students” Mr Frost
Students love Friday Pride Day and we love celebrating with our students.

Olivia D (Year 11) – “I was awarded the diamond ticket by Mrs Isherwood in drama. This was for Outstanding effort in the year 11 PPE, I showed resilience by overcoming challenges in section B, and gave great focused answers, excellent sentence structure that related to the question. I felt recognised for what I had achieved, even though my teacher, Miss Twigg gave me recognition, it was extra special getting a whole school recognition award. There were a lot of different prizes on offer so there would be something for everyone. I love Friday Pride Day, it just boosts morale, you get excited for it and seeing all of the teachers in their head boppers makes us look forward to it.”

James W (Year 8) – “I was awarded my golden ticket in Science. My teacher said that I made an excellent effort in the gas exchange model homework, I work very hard every lesson and demonstrate very good understanding by answering questions. I felt happy when I received the award and excited. I picked a prize that I wanted because there was a lot on offer. Friday Pride day is really good because students are able to be recognised for their achievements and get excited about it”.
